Mayra Cramer M.S., CCC-SLP

Mayra Cramer treats children as young as six months and with a range of needs, from developmental delays to spectrum disorders. Services include:

• Screenings of children's speech, providing parents and care-givers with an expert opinion on issues of concern.   
  

• Evaluations of children's speech levels and needs, including full battery of age appropriate tests, diagnosis of any issues, and a written report with treatment goals and recommended actions. 

• Individual therapy in 30 or 45 minute long sessions as often as twice weekly, tailored to each child's developmental needs and mental and physical abilities.

• Small group therapy in 45 minute long sessions as often as twice as a week, providing children with the opportunity to exercise their receptive and expressive language skills with peers, in a social setting.

• Social communication groups, for grade-school children struggling to make appropriate social connections with peers. (see more)
  

In addition to treating their children, Mayra Cramers provides services to parents, including

• Diagnosis of speech- and language-related disorders.

• Consultations and trainings with parents on the best avenues to acquire the necessary services for their children (including guidance on the IEP process, and working with county- and school-based programs) and home-based activities that can foster better speech.

• Seminars for parent groups on normal speech and language development, including red flags at different age ranges, and the best strategies for dealing with issues if they arise.

• Speech screenings for whole classes or grades, helping identify language-based issues that may interfere with a child's development or education.

• School-based trainings for teachers, school staff and/or parents, on normal speech-language development, red flag behaviors, and strategies for fostering effective language development. 

• Consultation with school staff on addressing language- and social-communication issues related issues with parents and caregivers in a constructive, professional manner. 
  

Mayra works closely with other medical professionals on an as needed basis, providing diagnostic and therapeutic support for speech issues, as part of interdisciplinary teams, to see to a child's whole range of needs.
